Hi! I am an assistant professor of linguistics at Indiana University. I most recently served as a Society of Fellows postdoctoral fellow at Dartmouth College. I earned my PhD in linguistics from Michigan State University where my advisor was Dr. Suzanne Evans Wagner.
I primarily conduct research in phonetics, phonology, and sociolinguistics. My dissertation explored the impact of local dialect decline and economic change on phonological representations in Lansing, Michign. Along with Dr. Wagner, I am currently collaborating with Dr. Karthik Durvasula (Michigan State University) and Dr. James N. Stanford (Dartmouth College) on projects probing phonological representations across dialects of North American English. Here is my CV.
I have had the pleasure of teaching since 2010. In that time, I've taught English as a Second Language (ESL) and lingusitics courses at the University of Texas at Arlington, Michigan State University, Dartmouth College, and Indiana University.
When I am not doing research, teaching, or writing, I enjoy traveling, weight training, dabling in photography (I took the photos on this page!), and hanging out with my family.
Feel free to peruse this site to learn more about how I spend my days. Cheers!
